ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT HYALURONIC ACID

Hyaluronic acid is a molecule naturally present in the body. It acts like a sponge, retaining water in tissues to ensure skin hydration. Its production declines over the years, causing breakage and skin slackening. Synthesizedhyaluronic acid formulas have been developed to compensate for this loss. In aesthetic medicine, synthesized hyaluronic acid is injected directly into the dermis to fill in and/or deeply moisturize the skin.

WHICH AREAS ARE CONCERNED BY HYALURONIC ACID INJECTIONS?

Depending on its degree of cross-linking, i.e. fluidity, hyaluronic acid has 3 main actions: moisturizing, volumizing and restructuring.

This molecule is used in particular to restore lost volumes such as:

  • nasolabial folds, vertical wrinkles that run from the corner of the nostrils to the tip of the lips.
  • bitterness lines, vertical wrinkles running from the corner of the mouth to the bottom of the face.
  • the lion’s wrinkle, located between the two eyebrows. It is caused by the action of the frontal muscles. Botulinum toxin injections are generally preferred for this area.
  • hollow circles, which give the face a tired look. This area requires particular vigilance, due to the many blood vessels that run through it. What’s more, the quantity of product injected must be carefully controlled. Only an experienced doctor can perform this procedure.

Hyaluronic acid is also used for its structuring properties:

  • redefine facial contours, sculpting the oval, for indications of sagging skin and skin lacking elasticity.
  • reshape cheekbones and temples. These injection zones also provide a tightening effect involving the entire face.
  • plump up the lips, redefine the cupid’s bow, indicated for people with thin, crumpled lips, or who want more volume.
  • rejuvenate the eyes by injecting the brow bone.
  • modify the shape of a nose, to make it more asymmetrical or rectify a hump.
  • correct a receding chin.

Finally, in its most fluid form, hyaluronic acid is used to deeply moisturize the dermis without impacting its density. Mesolift injections nourish the skin, making it supple and elastic, while stimulating the production of neo-collagen and fibroblasts. We offer various ranges of hyaluronic acid for mesotherapeutic use: Skinbooster, NCTF, Hydro and HydroMax. Facial mesotherapy, also known as Mesolift, is performed in 3 or 4 sessions at 2 to 4-week intervals, followed by quarterly or half-yearly maintenance sessions.

WHAT ARE THE CONTRAINDICATIONS TO HYALURONIC ACID INJECTIONS?

The list below is not exhaustive:

  • Autoimmune diseases
  • Pregnancy
  • Immunocompromised patients
  • Patient undergoing “heavy” treatment (to be assessed with the doctor)
  • Certain neurological and hematological diseases.
