Microneedling

What is microneedling by Dermapen ®?

Skin treatment with the “Dermapen” pen is similar to mesotherapy. This electric pen, fitted with a single-use micro-needle tip, uses a vibration system to create micro-perforations in the epidermis at variable but controlled depths.

These micro-incisions in the dermal layer stimulate fibroplasts (the cells responsible for skin quality and firmness), boosting the production of collagen and elastin, fundamental components of skin support.

Dermapen will improve skin quality on your face, neck, décolleté and hands. The result is genuine rejuvenation and a tensing effect on all treated tissues.

Dermapen also helps reduce fine lines, acne scars and other skin imperfections.

How does a Dermapen microneedling session work?

Before starting the
microneedling session
the skin is cleansed, then your Epilium & Skin practitioner applies an antibacterial solution. The practitioner makes several passes of Dermapen over the area(s) to be treated, with or without the active ingredients, according to the treatment plan defined in advance during the consultation.

Treatment is generally painless. However, if you are sensitive, you can apply an anaesthetic cream one hour before the session.

Depending on the sensitivity and reaction of the patient’s skin, the treatment is sometimes completed with ahyaluronic acid mask to help healing and reduce redness.

After the session, the skin is dewy. Some erythema (redness) may persist in the hours that follow, without causing social eviction.

For the 15 days following your micro-needling session, we recommend you apply a healing cream daily and protect yourself from sun exposure with a high-index UV protection product, toavoid any risk of pigmentation.

On average, we recommend 3 to 4 sessions, 6 weeks apart.

Results can be observed from 2 months and last from 10 to 12 months. They can be extended with maintenance sessions.

What are the results of microneedling?

By creating micro-trauma with the needles, the body defends itself and regenerates skin tissue, while boosting collagen production. This process will result in :

  • Brighten and revive the complexion by combining microneedling with vitamins and active ingredients such as NCTH 135 from Fillmed Laboratories, to optimize their penetration. Fine lines and wrinkles fade, pores are tightened. Other molecules can be combined with Dermapen (hyaluronic acid, antioxidants, etc.).
  • Fight skin slackening and give your face, neck, décolleté and hands a youthful glow by enhancing the mechanical effect of micro-needles with added vitamins.
  • Reduce scars and correct traces of acne.
  • Slows hair loss and stimulates regrowth. The mechanical effect of the micro-needles will allow the active ingredients (vitamins B5, H, Biotin) to penetrate, promoting hair regrowth. Stimulation of blood micro-circulation and dermal cells will boost follicular rejuvenation.
