Laser Hair Removal Paris
Permanent hair removal has established itself as the treatment par excellence for eliminating body hair. It saves time and effort spent on regular hair removal using traditional methods (razor, wax, depilatory cream).
With permanent hair removal, you’re assured ofsmooth, softer skin, without the sensation of rough regrowth. Patients are liberated and feel better about themselves.
WHAT IS PERMANENT HAIR REMOVAL?
Permanent hair removal has become the solution par excellence for getting rid of body hair for good. Today’s methods make it possible to treat all areas of the body and face. Epilium’s equipment is equally effective on both male and female patients, and on all phototypes.
Permanent hair removal aims to considerably reduce unwanted hair regrowth over a long period, or even permanently. The principle of permanent hair removal is to destroy the hair follicle responsible for hair growth, using electric current (electrolysis), laser flash or pulsed light.
WHAT ARE EPILIUM & SKIN’S PERMANENT HAIR REMOVAL METHODS?
Epilium offers a range of techniques for permanent hair removal. Depending on your needs and personal preferences, the Center’s aesthetic physicians will recommend the most suitable device for you.
LASER HAIR REMOVAL
Laser hair removal is for people who want a lasting reduction in unwanted hair, whether genetic, hormonal or otherwise. It is particularly effective on dark hairs. Before committing yourself, it’s important to check that the treatment is suitable for your skin type and hair color.
Laser hair removal is not recommended for pregnant women, is not recommended for people with tanned skin or skin recently exposed to the sun, and for individuals suffering from certain skin conditions, such as herpes active in the area to be treated.
Laser hair removal works by using a beam of light that is absorbed by the melanin present in hair follicles. This heats up and damages the hair follicles, inhibiting hair regrowth. Several sessions are needed to effectively remove all the hair by the time it reaches the anagen phase required for laser treatment.
Laser Lutronic Clarity II
The Clarity II laser is a state-of-the-art device. Its technology delivers higher pulse energy and power than other lasers, enabling all skin types to be treated without risk of skin breakdown, including dark, sensitive and tanned skins.
As the handpiece of this laser can be modulated, both small and large areas can be treated with incomparable efficiency.
ELECTRIC HAIR REMOVAL OR ELECTROLYSIS
Electric hair removal is particularly suitable for treating small areas such as the face, eyebrows or chin, especially when the hair is blond, gray or red, colors that are often ineffective for laser hair removal. It is also recommended for those who cannot undergo laser hair removal due to specific contraindications.
Electric hair removal is not recommended for people with pacemakers, as the currents used can interfere with the device. It is also not recommended for infected, irritated or lesioned skin. In addition, people with coagulation disorders or taking anticoagulants should avoid this method.
Electrolysis involves inserting a fine needle into each hair follicle and applying an electric current to destroy the hair at its root. This method can be used on all hair types and skin colors, and may be more suitable for treating small areas or light-colored hair. This technique may also be preferred in cases of paradoxical regrowth or to finish off a laser procedure.
Laser hair removal: how does it work?
Laser hair removal eliminates the hair root by selectively attacking its melanin. The laser then emits infrared rays to target the melanin concentrated in the hair, and transforms into heat to destroy the entire follicle. The heat generated damages the germinative cells, so the treated area can no longer produce hair. The wavelength of the light beam is set according to skin phototype and hair color, enabling hair removal without risk to the skin.
For optimum effectiveness, laser doctors only work on hair in the growth phase, as follicles in the resting phase are totally transparent and contain no melanin. Not all hairs grow at the same speed, so several sessions are recommended.
Laser hair removal: for whom?
Laser hair removal is an effective solution for permanent hair removal. It is available for women and men with mature hair. For women, this corresponds to the period when the menstrual cycle has stabilized. For men, we recommend waiting 25-30 years for optimal results.
Today, advanced laser technologies deliver convincing results on all skin and hair types. The Epilium & Skin center is now equipped with the ND:Yag laser, enabling risk-free laser hair removal on dark and matte skins.
Laser hair removal is contraindicated in cases of :
- Photosensitizing treatments (roacutane, cortisone, antibiotics, etc.)
- Herpes
- Infections or skin diseases
- Skin lesions
- Tattoo
- Pregnancy
- Breast-feeding period
What determines the results of laser hair removal?
At your first appointment at Epilium & Skin, a doctor will examine your hair growth. This consultation is essential to ensure maximum results. For the doctor, this first visit will enable him to :
- Determine your phototype to choose the right laser.
- Establish a treatment protocol to eradicate as much hair as possible.
- Determine hair color.
- Choose the right laser wavelength for the type of hair.
- Control laser pulse duration.
- Set laser fluence according to hair and skin type to ensure laser efficiency.
- Make sure there are no contraindications to laser hair removal
What are the results of laser hair removal?
Laser treatment removes hair at the root. As a result, each hair targeted by the laser will not grow back. Note, however, that laser hair removal only works on hair in the anagen phase. Several sessions are therefore required to target all hairs at different stages of growth. Areas with thicker hair, such as the underarms and bikini line, may require more sessions than areas with finer hair, such as the legs. To obtain a definitive result, it is therefore necessary to wait several months.
The number of laser hair removal sessions required may vary depending on the treatment area and the individual’s hairiness. However, if you adhere to the number of sessions recommended by your doctor, the treated area will be hair-free.
PRICES FOR PERMANENT LASER HAIR REMOVAL

WHAT IS THE HAIR LIFE CYCLE?
Four stages punctuate the hair life cycle. Hair is only receptive to laser treatment in the anagen phase, i.e. when it is growing back.
- Growth phase
The hair root is anchored in the hair follicle. The stem grows towards the surface of the skin. At this stage, the hairs are full of melanin, the pigment that gives them their color, and a prerequisite for laser hair removal. The duration of this phase varies according to the area of the body and individual factors (age, gender, hormones). It generally evolves between 1 and 3 months.
- Catagen, or transition, phase
During this phase, the papilla at the base of the hair shrinks, halting hair growth. This transitional stage is rapid, lasting no more than a few weeks.
- Telogen or resting phase
At this point, the hair follicle is inactive. The hair remains attached to the root but no longer grows. This phase is estimated to last several months.
- Falling phase
This is the hair’s last life cycle. The hair is ejected from the hair follicle and falls out naturally. After this, a new anagen phase begins.
Each hair goes through these phases independently, which means that not all hairs in a given area are in the same stage of the life cycle simultaneously. Laser hair removal therefore requires several sessions to target the entire hair follicle.
