WHAT IS HYALURONIC ACID?

Hyaluronic acid is the basic building block of our body’s cells. All cells are made of it and bathe in hyaluronic acid.

TREAT SIGNS OF AGING

To erase the signs of aging and rejuvenate the face, we must not simply pull the skin away from the face, but restore the volumes that have melted over time, without creating new ones.

TREAT BROKEN SKIN

Hyaluronic acid is also used to treat skin breakdown. All wrinkles with a skin break can be filled withhyaluronic acid.

MOISTURIZE THE SKIN

Hyaluronic acid also hydrates the skin when injected as mesotherapy.

CONTRAINDICATIONS TO HYALURONIC ACID

There are no contraindications to hyaluronic acid injections. However, as a precautionary measure, Epilium centers do not treat patients with autoimmune diseases, or immune disorders in general.

THE FIRST CONSULTATION

An initial consultation is carried out to define a treatment plan.

Patients are generally asked to bring back a photo of themselves when they were younger, so that the practitioner can get a clearer idea of the volumes that have melted away and thus define the most appropriate treatment: which wrinkles and skin breaks should be treated first, the number of injections needed, the quantity of hyaluronic acid to use for optimal volume restoration, etc.

If the skin is dehydrated, the injection sessions can be doubled by mesotherapy treatments, for optimal results.

BEFORE THE FIRST SESSION OF HYALURONIC ACID INJECTIONS

Before the first session, it is not advisable to take bleeding-inducing drugs such as aspirin, to avoid post-injection haematomas.

THE SESSION

Hyaluronic acid injections are painless. In Epilium centers, we work with extremely fine needles. The finer the needle, the more painless the injection. Another advantage is that a fine needle leaves no post-operative haematoma.

VOLUMIZING TREATMENTS

At our Paris aesthetic medicine center, for volumizing treatments, we work with a relatively dense hyaluronic acid, which enables deep injections to be made, restoring volume in a natural way.

Good to know: The deeper thehyaluronic acid is injected, the longer it lasts and the more natural the results.

Whenhyaluronic acid is injected deeply, it is not subject to the mechanics of facial mimicry and therefore lasts longer.

TREATMENT OF WRINKLES AND BROKEN SKIN

For the treatment of wrinkles and skin breakage, we use another, more fluid, less hydrophilic hyaluronic acid, which enables us to treat skin breakage without causing swelling, and which again enables us to work with extremely fine needles.

SUSTAINABILITY OF RESULTS

At the Epilium center, we inject thehyaluronic acid as deeply as possible, so that it lasts as long as possible. On average, results can last up to 18 months, although this depends on the areas treated. For example, in the nasolabial folds, hyaluronic acid does not last longer than 6 months, as this area is heavily subjected to the mechanics of facial expression.

Each smile, each facial expression, will deplete the stock ofhyaluronic acid injected, and since these are very active areas, the stock is depleted much faster than in other areas of the face.

AFTER A SESSION OF HYALURONIC ACID INJECTIONS

After ahyaluronic acid injection session, we recommend :

Apply a small amount of ice to the treated area.
Do not massage the treated area, as this will crush the product and make it less effective.
Allow the product to settle naturally for at least a week.
