Face Peeling Paris

A facial peel is a non-surgical aesthetic medicine technique that regenerates the skin and restores its radiance by naturally boosting the production of new cells and the synthesis of collagen and elastin.

All our peels come from Relife Laboratories, specialists in aesthetic dermatology and anti-aging medicine, who guarantee the highest level of safety and expertise to our patients. These peels are formulated with salicylic, pyruvic and retinoic acids.

What are the indications for a facial peel?

Facial peels are suitable for all skin types and can treat a wide range of skin imperfections:

  • Dull skin and a blurred complexion: a facial peel evens out skin tone and brightens the complexion by removing dead cells that have accumulated on the skin’s surface.
  • Acne: chemical peels exfoliate the superficial layers of the epidermis, helping to prevent the formation of comedones, the precursors of acne. Salicylic acid regulates the production of sebum responsible for clogged pores. Its antibacterial properties limit inflammation.
  • Acne scars and other superficial scars: by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, a facial peel helps fade superficial scars.
  • Pigmentation spots: sun spots, age spots and melasma can be reduced.
  • Folliculitis: Folliculitis is inflammation of the hair follicles, often caused by bacterial infection. By removing dead cells, the peel will eliminate excess dead skin that clogs pores.
  • Fine lines and wrinkles: chemical facial peels smooth and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by stimulating cell renewal.

What types of peelings are performed at Epilium & Skin Paris?

There are different types of peel (chemical, laser…) depending on the indications of each patient: treatment of spots, dull complexion, acne, excess seborrhea, etc.

At our Epilium & Skin center, we have selected face and body peels from Relife Laboratories , specialists in aesthetic dermatology.

Light Peelings ranges

Superficial peels can be performed on all skin types. It helps to brighten the complexion, even out skin tone and tighten pores.

  • Purify Peel, a seborrheic regulator. It improves the appearance of acne-prone skin and reduces folliculitis. Its purifying action deeply cleanses and eliminates blackheads, regulates oily, seborrheic and acne-prone skin, and fades scars.
  • Réjuv Peel, anti-aging and epidermal stimulator. It acts on the first signs of skin aging. Its in-depth stimulation of fibroblasts boosts collagen and elastin synthesis, helping to reduce wrinkles and fine lines.
  • Lumilight Peel, to stimulate radiance. For dull, uneven complexions, it evens out and brightens the complexion. Its abrasive action erases brown spots and smoothes out the first wrinkles by homogenizing the cells that produce melanin.

Medium Peel ranges

  • Méla Peel, indicated for reducing the appearance of pigmentation spots and post-inflammatory pigmentation.
  • Cosmo Peel 15% or 20%, to prevent skin slackening on the face, neck and décolleté, reduce textural irregularities and beautify smokers’ complexions. Skin is suppler, firmer and features are visibly smoothed.

The composition and intensity of the peel are chosen according to the patient’s indication. The associated personalized protocol will be determined following an examination of your skin by the Epilium & Skin specialist.

How does a Paris facial peel work?

In some cases, skin preparation should be carried out at home during the 15 days prior to the peel, to optimize treatment results.

On the day of the session, the skin is first cleansed with a micellar solution and/or glycolic acid cleanser, to remove all residues of make-up, cream and dead skin cells.

The specialist then applies the peel. Depending on the peel range used, application is made with a brush or cotton swab, starting with the T-zone (forehead, nose, top of lips, chin) then the cheeks, while avoiding the eye contour area.

Light peels need to be neutralized as soon as the skin shows a slight erythema, while medium peels should be rinsed 4 to 6 hours after the session, at home.

After the session, some redness may appear, and persist for up to 72 hours. In rare cases, slight desquamation may occur. Eneomey and Dermaceutic peels have been designed to ensure maximum patient comfort, with post-treatment after-effects that do not lead to social isolation. Normal activity can be resumed immediately.

How many sessions are required?

A protocol will require 4 sessions, spaced 15 days apart, 15 days being the time needed for genuine skin regeneration. If your skin is very sensitive, your doctor will recommend that you space out your sessions even further, to give your skin tissue time to heal.

What are the expected results?

At the end of this program of 4 facial peeling sessions, your skin will be softer, smoother and more luminous. Rid of roughness and imperfections, the complexion is radiant.

The peeling process also helps boost the synthesis of nèo-collagen, for firmer, more toned skin.

Contraindications to peeling treatment

  • pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • active herpes
  • current or recent acne treatment
  • certain skin diseases (eczema, melanoma, psoriasis, etc.)
  • recent or future sun exposure
  • wound healing disorder
  • Irritation or active wounds on the face

During the protocol

It is advisable to avoid exposure to the sun during the peeling treatment. This sun avoidance is necessary between each of the 4 sessions of the protocol, and you will have to wait a week after the last treatment before you can expose yourself to the sun again.

The same applies after your peeling sessions: as the skin is weakened, you need to give it time to heal, i.e. about ten days without exposure. Otherwise, there is a risk of pigment spots forming.
