Laser hair removal before summer, good or bad idea?<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Before the advent of new laser technologies<\/strong>, which now make it possible to treat all skin types<\/strong>, it was customary to start laser treatment<\/strong> after the summer period on perfectly de-tanned skin, in order to maximize the parameters used and thus optimize the results at the end of the sessions.<\/p>\n

However, the results of laser hair removal<\/strong> can generally be appreciated in an average of 8 sessions, spaced 8 to 12 weeks apart, depending on the area treated. It therefore takes between 16 and 24 months to complete a laser protocol<\/strong>: the treatment will inevitably fall during a sunny period.<\/p>\n

So, is it possible to start laser hair removal before you go on vacation?<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Considering that the parameters used are lower at the start of treatment, as the hair is generally thicker, we will be very effective even with an undervalued fluence, which will enable us to safely treat tanned skin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

By the end of laser treatment<\/strong>, however, hair becomes lighter and thinner. The doses used are therefore higher, and the risk of burns greater on recently exposed skin. That’s why, in this context, we recommend postponing laser treatment until the tan has been completely removed, i.e. about 2 months without exposure, to avoid any complications.<\/p>\n

The answer is YES!<\/strong> You can start your sessions in spring or summer, as long as your hair is thick and dark, and the last direct exposure was more than a week ago. In this way, you’ll save time in your treatment, avoiding the interruption that could occur at the end of your sessions<\/strong> in the event of exposure.<\/p>\n

I’m at the end of my treatment and I’ve been sunbathing. What should I do?<\/span> <\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

You can’t postpone your session because you have a complex about this area? On body areas, you can use your usual traditional hair removal method, such as your razor or wax. However, if you use the latter, be sure to wait for complete regrowth before resuming laser treatment<\/strong>, i.e. at least 4 weeks. This timeframe must also be respected for hair removal with a cosmetic electric epilator used at home, or with tweezers.<\/p>\n

For facial areas, or areas with very fine down,electrolysis<\/strong> can be used. This technique does not target the skin’s melanin, so it can be used on all phototypes<\/strong> at any time of year. A filament is inserted as close as possible to the bulb, sending an electric current to destroy it. The result is considered definitive<\/strong> in the same way as laser treatment.<\/p>\n

What about sun exposure right after a laser session?<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

There must be a one-week delay between the session and the exhibition. As the skin has already been weakened by the energy injected by the laser beam, it is preferable not to overexpose it to external aggression. During this time, be sure to moisturize your skin with a rich cream applied after a shower.<\/p>\n

Of course, when you’re out in the sun, SPF 30 or 50 should be renewed as often as necessary, to protect your skin<\/strong> from potential sunburn.<\/p>\n
